1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, profile picture, and payment information. We also collect information about your assets (vehicle details, property addresses) and uploaded documents (receipts, invoices, service records). Usage data including login times, feature usage, and device information is collected automatically.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Tended service
• Process uploaded documents through AI verification
• Generate and display your Tended Reports
• Process subscription payments via Stripe
• Send maintenance reminders and service notifications
• Calculate and display your Tended Score
• Enable report transfers between owners

3. Document Processing

Uploaded documents are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI for verification. Documents are sent securely to the AI service for analysis and are not retained by the AI provider after processing. Original documents are stored securely in our infrastructure (Supabase) and are accessible only to you and authorized recipients of your Tended Report.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Payment information is processed and stored by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication, and access controls.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these circumstances:

• Report Transfers: When you transfer a Tended Report, the recipient sees your report data including entries and scores
• Public Reports: If you share a public report link, anyone with the link can view your report
• Service Providers: We share data with Stripe (payments), Supabase (storage), Anthropic (AI review), and Resend (email) as necessary to operate the service
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing communications

7. Anonymized Data Collection and Use

When you upload maintenance receipts and service records, we extract anonymized data to build a vehicle and property intelligence database. This data is fully anonymized and cannot be traced back to you:

• What we collect: Service types, service dates, mileage readings, costs, shop locations (city/state only), parts used, and service intervals — linked only to a one-way hash of your VIN (never the VIN itself)
• What we never store: Your name, email, user ID, asset ID, full address, or any other personally identifiable information in the intelligence database
• How we use it: To provide average maintenance costs, typical service intervals, and personalized schedule recommendations to all Tended users with similar vehicles or properties
• Your consent: By creating an account, you agree to this anonymized data collection as described in our Terms of Service

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we retain anonymized data for analytical purposes. Transferred Tended Reports remain accessible to the new owner. Flagged entries are retained permanently as part of the asset's verified history, even after account deletion.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or sell data to advertisers. Analytics data is collected in aggregate to improve the service.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
